It feels strange to not be riding today. But we said we should rest for a day, let the bikes rest too, do some much-needed washing, and see the local rodeo tonight!!

It's raining and grey out there. We are holing ourselves in the campsite's laundry room listening to the Dixie Chicks and the Cowboy Junkies.

We washed our clothes, ate breakfast ('bear paw' pastries and yogurt) and lunch (microwaved Campbell's Chunky Chicken soup), read the local paper and now just taking advantage of the free wi-fi here.

Thank goodness we are not fussy people and can just amuse the day away in a painted white room with horrible plastic chairs.

So far, the trip can be summed up as follows:

2626.4 km (some gravel and mud, but mostly smooth tarmac); 20+ gas up stops (all cheaper than on Vancouver Island); a few gallons of coffee; 200+ mp3 songs (heard at least 5 times each); 247 photos; 1 campfire (we actually had time last night!);  4 mosquito bites (and counting).
